COMMISSIONER REPRESENTING PLATEAU STATE AT THE NATIONAL POPULATION COMMISSION MOURNS THE DEMISE OF HER ESTEEMED HUSBAND, CHIEF HON ISHAYA SILAS AFAN, JP
On Thursday, 28th November, a multitude of sympathizers converged to pay their last respects to the late Chief Hon Ishaya Silas Afan, JP. The occasion drew an array of distinguished dignitaries, including representatives from the Presidency and Six Federal Commissioners of the National Population Commission.
Present at the occasion were traditional rulers from the Izere Nation, led by HRH, the Izere Nation Traditional Council Chairman. The Plateau State Government was ably represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Hon Musa Ashom. The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, was also in attendance. The Plateau State House of Assembly was represented by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Isa Ajiji Madaki, who was accompanied by Hon Dalyop Isaac Gyang. The former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Joshua Izang Madaki, also paid his respects.
The Chairman of Jos East Local Government Area was represented by his Deputy. Representatives from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Course 43, as well as Directors from the Plateau State Government House Administration, also attended the occasion. Community leaders and other dignitaries were also present, all united in their quest to offer condolences to the bereaved family.
Also present at the occasion were Hon Jibril Banchir, who represented the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, and Emmanuel Dashe, who represented Professor Patrick Dakum, among other dignitaries.
The late Chief Hon Ishaya Silas Afan, JP, was an illustrious traditional ruler in Sabon Gari, Fobur District of Jos East LGA, Plateau State. His distinguished public service career spanned several years, during which he served as a councillor representing Fobur B, Special Adviser (SA) to the Chairman of Jos East LGA, aspirant for the Chairmanship of Jos East Local Government Area, and aspirant for the Plateau State House of Assembly, representing Jos East Constituency. He later served as PDP secretary, Jos East LGA, during the tenure of H.E Sen Joshua Dariye. Furthermore, he was a renowned grassroots mobilizer, a philanthropist, and the Plateau State Chairman of Tomatoes Farmers Association.
His demise has left an unfillable void in the hearts of his loved ones and the community at large.
